Inspiration and InfluencesPriya Dave is an interdisciplinary artist who works in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Papermaking, Sculptures, Video projections, and Sound using various materials such as recycled papers, canvas, tissue papers, and other things depending on the artwork. Through her artwork, she aims to create an environment that maps the brain's physiological architecture, engages with the public, and helps audiences understand the brain's creative processes and the importance of Mental health as understood through Neuroscience. Dave has always been captivated by the union of art and science, which led her to focus on the science of the brain, cells, neurons, Synapses, their cellular or molecular structures, and their interconnections. It has been attempted to show how neuronal responses differ in different environments. The fact that neuronal electric waves have a tremendous influence on our brain and life contributes to mental illness. Her paper sculptures on canvas operate as neurons, whilst the canvas is the internal surface of a brain, as per the artist. Videos projections that are both stimulating and emotional give the installation life. She aspires to understand the frailty of our minds and their effects on humanity.
